Damaged SUV after it was hit by a lorry on Chennai-Bengaluru Highway on Friday.

A family of four persons was injured after an SUV they were travelling was hit by a lorry on Chennai – Bengaluru Highway (NH 48) near Ambur town in Tirupattur on Friday.
The police said K. Silabarasan, 35, along with his wife and two children, hired an SUV with a private travel agency in Ambur town to go to Tirupati.
The driver of the SUV, S. Kannan, 31, l steered the vehicle to climb onto the carriageway of the highway, when a lorry with a consignment of liquor bottles t hit the SUV.
In the impact, all five persons were injured. Lorry driver, T. Jeevanatham, 59, a resident of Arcot town in Ranipet, was unhurt. The lorry was proceeding from Vellore to Tirupattur to unload the consignment at a Tasmac godown. P
Passersby admitted the injured persons at Government Taluk Hospital in Ambur. A case was registered. A probe is under way.
