Five held on charge of dacoity

The Ernakulam North police arrested a total of five persons, including a young woman, on the charge of a dacoity, that occurred on December 7, 2025, at Ayyapankavu.

The gang reportedly threatened a 24-year-old Maharashtra native with an air pistol and abducted him in their rented car. As they around the city, they allegedly stole cash and other valuables from him before dropping him off at Palarivattom.

The accused, Sharun, Binas, Joel, Sabir and Jasreena, were arrested from different parts of the State between December 21 and January 24, 2026, by a police team led by Inspector Jijin Joseph.
