The five-day music festival organised to mark the silver jubilee celebrations of Sanketi Sangeetha Sabha concluded at Hosahalli, near Shivamogga, on Sunday.

The highlight of the festival was a 24-hour non-stop music programme that ran from 6 p.m. on Saturday to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Performances continued through the night and into the following evening at Gamaka Bhavan, with the residents of the village — most of whom are devoted listeners of Carnatic music — present throughout.

The programmes featured vocal and instrumental performances as well as lecture demonstrations. Aneesh Nagesh delivered a talk on the compositions of Muthuswami Dikshitar. TRK Brothers — Akshay and Abhishek — presented Dikshitar’s kritis as part of the demonstration.

The festival, which began on Wednesday, May 27, drew music lovers from several places. Hosahalli K. Venkataram, president of Sanketi Sangeetha Sabha, presided over the inaugural ceremony.
