The villagers accorded them a grand welcome by playing drums and showering flowers. He called on the people to participate in the development of the district by maintaining proper personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness.

He further said, “this Gram Sabha is organised to create more awareness among the people about cleanliness and to inform them about the development works being undertaken at the village level under the G RAM G Act. Every month, these programmes would being organised with a special theme on cleanliness of surroundings.”

The Collector said that the government has decided to undertake large-scale programmes in the name of ‘Swachh Sankranti’ this month. The MLA said, “We have achieved a separate district with the support and cooperation of the people. In the last one-and- a-half-year, 119-km of cement roads have been constructed in the constituency. The government hospital has been upgraded to a district level hospital. The State government has given priority to waste management, sanitation and road construction.”
