The Ernakulam Rural Cyber Police in Aluva have registered a case on a complaint filed by a woman actor, who alleged a widespread cyberattack against her after she raised accusations of sexual misconduct by a young politician. The police said a first information report (FIR) was registered on Wednesday (September 17, 2025) after receiving her complaint.

The FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the IT Act against the alleged offenders, including some YouTubers, the police said. The charges against the accused include outraging the modesty of a woman. The woman had on Saturday (September 13, 2025) lodged a similar complaint with the Chief Minister and senior police officers.
