FIR registered against supplier of low-quality tur dal

Chief Executive Officer of the Yadgir Zilla Panchayat Lavish Ordia has recommended to the government taking disciplinary action against the Education Officer, Akshara Dasoha, on the charge of lapse in ensuring supply of good quality tur dal to government-run schools for mid-day meals.

In a release here on Monday, Mr. Ordia said that the during a surprise inspection, tur dal being supplied to schools was found to be of low quality, infested with pests and was also not of the required quantity.

Lab reports of samples have confirmed that the tur dal was of low quality and unsafe for consumption under the FSSAI guidelines.

Following a report, an FIR has been registered against the supplier, Lalit Industries of Kalaburagi, for supplying low-quality tur dal, he said in the release.
