Feminichi Fatima to open 81st Rasmi film festival on February 6

The curtain will fall on the golden jubilee celebrations of Rasmi Film Society here on Friday evening (February 6) when film actor Madhupal inaugurates the 81st International Film Festival of Malappuram.

The valedictory function and the three-day film festival will take place at Espero Inn here. Rasmi Film Society president and poet Manambur Rajanbabu will preside over the function.

Organising committee president V.P. Anil will deliver the introductory remarks. K. Syama will recite a poem of O.N.V. Kurup. Malappuram Municipal Chairperson Rineesha Rafeeque will felicitate Mr. Madhupal. District Collector V.R. Vinod will release the festival’s signature film.

P. Ubaidullah, MLA, will release the festival book by giving a copy to Unnikrishnan Avala. Malayalam University vice-chancellor C.R. Prasad will give away the Shaji N. Karun award for the best book on films to K.S. Anil Kumar and G. Rasmi.

Mr. Madhupal will also release a book titled ‘Malappuram Desam Cinema’, which deals with Malappuram in Malayalam films. The film Feminichi Fatima, directed by Fasil Mohammed, will be screened after the inaugural.
