Farming will become viable only when farmers can stop selling their produce below the production cost and start deciding the market prices of their crops, said H.K. Patil, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, and Tourism.

Addressing the Global Agri-Tech Summit 2026 in Bengaluru on Saturday, the Minister said: “Today, markets are not of sellers, but only buyers. Through the use of technology and innovative farming and selling techniques, our farmers should be able to earn well and treat and manage their land parcels as high-yield enterprises.’’
