JAGTIAL

The release of ₹ 5 lakh ex gratia each to as many as 50 families of deceased Gulf migrant workers from Jagtial district has been stalled due to the alleged negligence of the officials concerned of the GAD NRI Department at the State Secretariat, said Mandha Bheem Reddy, Vice-Chairman, NRI Advisory Committee, Telangana.

Despite the funds being ready for disbursement, the ex gratia amount, totalling ₹2.5 crore, has not yet been credited into the bank accounts of the bereaved families, he said in a statement. The speedy verification and processing of applications by the district administration notwithstanding, the amount is yet to be released.

The affected families sought the intervention of Minister for SC, ST Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar and other elected public representatives for immediate release of the sanctioned assistance.
