SRM University-AP hosted a national stakeholder consultation workshop on Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and Cybersecurity, organised by Amaravati Quantum Valley, to discuss India’s transition towards quantum-resistant digital infrastructure.

The workshop brought together policymakers, academics, regulators, banking representatives and technology experts to examine emerging cybersecurity challenges and develop strategies for protecting digital systems against future quantum threats.

Addressing the workshop, SRM AP Vice-Chancellor Ch Satish Kumar highlighted the university’s commitment to advancing quantum research through modern infrastructure and industry-academia collaborations. He emphasised its ambition to contribute to India’s leadership in quantum technologies and cryptographic security.

Managing Director of AP SQM, C.V. Sridhar, outlined the vision of Amaravati Quantum Valley, which aims to build a strong quantum hardware ecosystem by supporting startups and connecting them with advanced computing platforms. Its roadmap includes photonic Ising machines, quantum and AI innovation facilities, precision oncology and indigenous hardware development.

Chairman of the MeitY Expert Committee on Post-Quantum Cryptography, Sudeep Oberai, discussed the need for national security standards and policy frameworks to assess cryptographic algorithms and strengthen digital certificates and electronic signatures. He highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts among industry, academia and regulators to ensure a timely transition from vulnerable legacy systems.

Representatives from Punjab National Bank shared their experiences in implementing cybersecurity measures under the Reserve Bank of India’s framework, including migration planning, latency challenges and insights from specialised hackathons. Quantum AI Global presented solutions such as Q Forte, Q Sleeve and Quantum Random Number Generators, stressing the need for comprehensive security upgrades across digital infrastructure.

With contributions from MeitY scientists K.K. Soundra Pandian and P. Ramachandran, the workshop underscored the importance of quantum-ready hardware, coordinated policy action and collaborative research in strengthening India’s cybersecurity preparedness.
