The Karnataka government has decided to temporarily appoint guest lecturers, who have been serving for a long time in government colleges but do not possess University Grant Commission (UGC)-prescribed qualifications (NET/SLET/PhD), as “Academic Coordinators.”

They would be appointed in government first grade colleges, engineering colleges, and polytechnics, with the aim of safeguarding their interests. Deputy Secretary of Higher Education issued an order in this regard on Thursday.
