Forest Minister B. Eshwar Khandre on Thursday told the Legislative Assembly that the Indian Air Force (IAF) authorities were not only in “illegal possession” of forest land in Jarakbande Kaval village of Bengaluru North taluk as the land granted to them had been cancelled, but it had also given about 58 acres of forest land to BMRCL for monetary compensation.

Replying to the issue raised by Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok in the Assembly, the Forest Minister said measures would be taken to recover the money that had been received by the Air Force from metro authorities.
