Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani starrer Awarapan 2 has continued its impressive run at the worldwide box office. The film has now crossed the Rs 180 crore mark globally, achieving the milestone on its ninth day of release. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film has emerged as one of the biggest successes of Emraan Hashmi’s career, despite facing competition from Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s Batwara 1947. Awarapan 2 crosses Rs 180 crore worldwide
The sequel to the 2007 cult classic Awarapan, Awarapan 2 maintained its momentum throughout its first week. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 113.50 crore net in India during its first seven days, while its worldwide gross stood at Rs 161.67 crore at the end of its opening week.
Despite witnessing a dip in earnings on Day 8, the film collected Rs 5.75 crore in India across 9,858 shows. It then saw a sudden rise in earnings on Day 9, collecting Rs 8.25 crore, benefiting from the weekend. With this, the film’s total India collection stands at Rs 127.50 crore, while its worldwide gross has reached Rs 180.91 crore.
Awarapan 2: All about the cast
Apart from the lead actors, Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani, the film features Shabana Azmi as Nafisa, Wamiqa Gabbi’s brother Puran Gabbi as Zorawar, Anirudh Rawal as Sikandar, Surendar Vicky as Jaideep, Vijayant Kohli as Mehmood and Atul Kumar as Samarth in pivotal roles.
Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has brought back memories of the 2007 film because of its popular music. While Mustafa Zahid’s voice is still remembered for songs like Toh Phir Aao and Tera Mera Rishta, the sequel features singer Subodhh Sharma in the new versions of these tracks.
Produced by Vishesh Bhatt under Vishesh Films, the film’s music includes songs composed by Mithoon, Jeet Gannguli, Amaal Mallik and Akhil Sachdeva.
Awarapan 2 ending: Will there be Awarapan 3?
If you have watched the film, Awarapan 2 ends with Shivam Pandit, played by Emraan Hashmi, rescuing Aliyah from Zorawar, the villain portrayed by Puran Gabbi, and killing him. As Aliyah begins a new life, Shivam meets Zara (Disha Patani) and bids her farewell before taking on a new role working for Nafisa (Shabana Azmi).
The makers have kept the ending of Awarapan 2 open-ended, hinting at a possible Awarapan 3. However, they have not yet made any official announcement regarding the film’s third instalment.
