The Andhra Pradesh government has operationalised its Sustainable Electric Mobility Policy (4.0) 2024-29 by notifying five “Model E-Mobility Cities,” marking a significant push towards clean and technology-driven urban transport systems.

The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Department issued G.O.Rt.No.499, approving an operational framework and strategic roadmap for implementation across Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). The selected cities — Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Nellore and Tirupati — represent five administrative regions of the State.
