AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, on Sunday (June 28, 2026), urged the TVK-led Tamil Nadu government to enquire into the allegations of irregularities in the recruitment of Assistant Professors and to further ensure the appointment of eligible candidates.

In a statement, he referred to reports about allegations of irregularities following the declaration of results for the recruitment conducted for these posts by the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) recently.

Mr. Palaniswami asked: “How can a candidate who scored 100 marks in the objective paper could get zero mark in the descriptive paper? It only shows that there has not been a uniform method in awarding marks to candidates.”

The former Chief Minister said that the recruitment, which removed eligible candidates and favoured those who obtained less marks, should be cancelled. He further called for an independent enquiry and further insisted that recruitments should be suspended till the completion of the enquiry.
