EC makes final preparations for counting of votes at 62 centres across Tamil Nadu

Elaborate arrangements have been put in place by the Election Commission of India (EC) for the counting of votes for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election at 62 counting centres across the State on Monday. Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik on Saturday held a review meeting with EC officials on the final phase of arrangements for counting.

According to sources, The counting of votes will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, starting with postal ballots. The postal ballots of service voters will be accepted till 8 a.m. on the day of counting. The postal ballots will be counted at the ratio of one table for every 500 postal ballots. The counting of votes polled in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will begin at 8.30 a.m. after postal ballot counting is completed.
