Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday (September 13, 2025) said that the DMK was not a party that gathers crowds devoid of ideology and makes empty noise, creates ruckus, or causes nuisance to the public.

“Let us gather as an ideologically committed crowd and leave the venues as soldiers ready to fulfil our goals,” he said in his message on the eve of the party’s Mupperum Vizha to be held in Karur.

He said the Mupperum Vizha would serve both as proof and a pledge that neither old nor new enemies — whoever they may be — could undermine the DMK, a fortress made of steel.

Mr. Stalin said the DMK government, in the last four years, had made strides in reclaiming what Tamil Nadu had lost due to the “betrayal” of the BJP-led government and its “slave”, the AIADMK.

“We have achieved double-digit growth. The data of the Union government speak for the achievements of the Dravidian Model government of the DMK. Tamil Nadu has become a model for school and higher education, and for creating infrastructure in the health sector. It is the State with the highest number of industries and that generates the most employment,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the DMK, which had enrolled one crore members, pledged that it would not allow Tamil Nadu to hang its head in shame.

“I take a pledge to fight against the move to reduce the number of Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu through the delimitation process, and against Prime Minister Narendra Modi government’s plans to deprive the people of Tamil Nadu of their voting rights through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR),” he said.

The Chief Minister said he would continue to fight against NEET, discrimination against the Tamil language and culture, and the denial of rights to women, farmers, fishermen, and weavers.
