The Union Ministry of Tourism has stepped up its digital promotion of tourist destinations across India, including Andhra Pradesh, through the revamped Incredible India Digital Platform (IIDP) and its official social media initiatives.

In reply to a question by member Sana Sathish Babu in Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said the revamped IIDP had been developed as a comprehensive digital resource for travellers and tourism stakeholders.

The platform showcases India’s cultural heritage, natural attractions and a wide range of tourism experiences, including cultural, heritage, adventure, gastronomy, wellness, arts and crafts and rural tourism.

he said the platform also provides features such as real-time weather updates, city exploration tools and essential travel information. A dedicated content hub enables the creation, sharing and management of digital tourism assets, helping improve the online visibility of destinations.

According to the Union Minister, the IIDP is available in Hindi, English, Russian, Spanish, French, Chinese and Arabic, allowing tourism content to reach both domestic and international audiences. It also provides curated travel information and facilitates bookings for flights, hotels, cabs, buses and tickets for Archaeological Survey of India monuments through partnerships with online travel agencies and other stakeholders.

Mr. Shekhawat said it regularly promotes tourism destinations, products and initiatives through its official social media channels. As part of its digital outreach strategy, it also collaborates with influencers such as travel bloggers, YouTubers and photographers to showcase India’s diverse tourism offerings and enhance their visibility.

“The initiatives are expected to strengthen the digital discoverability of tourist destinations, including those in Andhra Pradesh, by combining multilingual content, digital storytelling, social media outreach and technology-enabled travel services, he informed.
