AMMK founder T.T.V. Dhinakaran, who recently quit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the GST reforms that came into force on Monday (September 22, 2025).

Mr. Dhinakaran, in a social media post, contended that the GST reforms could benefit the poor, the downtrodden, the middle class, and traders. He commended the Central government for the reforms, which has reduced the prices of medicines, and personal and health insurance, among others.

“My heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for having implemented the new GST reforms that have come as a Deepavali gift to the people and traders,” Mr. Dhinakaran said.
