Dharwad ZP CEO inspects progress of multi-village drinking water supply project

Chief Executive Officer of Dharwad Zilla Panchayat Bhuvanesh Patil has directed officials to expedite work on the multi-village drinking water supply project in the district and to complete the work within the deadline.

The project to supply drinking water to 388 villages in Dharwad district is being implemented in DBOT (Design, Build, Operate, Transfer) mode

On November 12, Mr. Bhuvanesh Patil reviewed the progress of the work. He inspected the electric power sub-station at Saundatti and the water treatment plant being constructed at Hireulligeri village under the project.

He stressed on the need to ensure high quality in the ongoing work and also to complete the work within the deadline. He instructed officials to complete the remaining work on the raw water line within seven days and on the WTP within one month.

Work on pumping of water directly from the Renukasagar reservoir and construction of parts of the water treatment unit are underway.

Mr. Patil visited the electricity distribution sub-station at Saundatti and inspected work on the transmission line related to the water supply project. He directed officials to expedite the work and conduct trial runs on supply of water to at least 50 villages in the next one month.

Senior officials and representatives of the contractors were among those who accompanied Mr. Patil.
