Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday made a whirlwind tour of the tribal heartland of Utnoor mandal in Adilabad district.

He began his tour late on Wednesday afternoon by visiting Danthanapalli village where he attended the housewarming ceremony of a beneficiary of the Indiramma housing scheme.

He paid floral tributes to the statue of Gond martyr Kumram Suru at Kolamguda village.

The Deputy CM laid the foundation stones for a Young India Integrated Residential School and a 33/11 KV sub-station at Pulimadugu village.

He interacted with villagers at Kummarithanda village late in the evening.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the State government is implementing the Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasm scheme to uplift tribal farmers by providing solar-powered irrigation facilities at an estimated cost of ₹12,500 crore.

He listed out the State government’s key welfare schemes and assured to take up Pulimadugu and two other projects in Utnoor mandal to address the irrigation needs of tribal farmers, inhabiting remote hamlets.

Later, the Deputy CM handed over pattas under the Forest Rights Act (RoFR) to several Adivasi farmers.
