Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath has said the State government has sanctioned ₹100 crore to provide a permanent solution to the woes related to drinking water supply in Jaggayyapeta town and that a Defence Corridor will be set up in the region.

The announcement was made during a felicitation ceremony held at Jaggayyapeta Agricultural Market Committee (AMC) yard, coinciding with the assumption of office by AMC Chairperson Mallela Seethamma and thirteen other Directors.

The programme was attended by dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, MP Kesineni Sivanath, MLAs M.S. Raju, Nakka Anand Babu, Sriram Rajgopal, TDP leaders Gadde Anuradha, KDCC Bank Chairman Nettem Raghuram, NTR district SC Cell President Songa Sanjay Verma, and Jaggayyapeta Municipal Chairman Rangapuram Raghavendra.

The MP highlighted that appointing a Dalit woman as AMC Chairperson reflects the party’s commitment to social justice.

He noted that the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway six-laning project will give Jaggayyapeta strategic importance. The Kodada–Jaggayyapeta road has also been sanctioned. He stressed that these developments would boost regional growth and employment opportunities.
