India’s campaign at the 23rd Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games is progressing remarkably well on Day 10, with the nation currently holding sixth place in the medal tally after securing 27 medals: seven gold, 13 silver, and seven bronze.

Leading a 122-member contingent across eight able-bodied (athletics, artistic gymnastics, bowls, boxing, judo, swimming, track cycling, weightlifting) and five integrated para-sports categories (para athletics, para powerlifting, para swimming, para track cycling and 3×3 wheelchair basketball), Indian athletes are leaving their indelible mark in Scotland. The country sits just behind Nigeria in the overall standings as competition continues.

Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu secured India’s first gold medal in Glasgow by winning the 48 kg event. Meanwhile, Rishikanta Singh won India’s first able-bodied medal with a silver in the Men’s 60 kg weightlifting category, and Raja Muthupandi followed up with a second silver in the Men’s 65 kg weightlifting event.

Murali Sreeshankar won silver at the Commonwealth Games on July 29, 2026.

Lovepreet Singh won a silver in the men’s weightlifting 110+ category and Seema Kaliramna won the bronze medal in the women’s discus throw.

Para-powerlifter Jhandu Kumar officially opened India’s medal account on Friday (July 24) by capturing a bronze medal in the Men’s para-powerlifting division. India won its second bronze when Bindyarani Devi finished third in the final of the women’s 58 kg weightlifting event.

Asmita Dey made history by winning India’s first-ever gold medal in judo at the Commonwealth Games. Shortly after, Harsh Singh also joined the ranks.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow are currently underway from July 23 to August 2.
