The State-level ‘Kutti Slam’ will be jointly organised by Samagra Shiksha Keralam and Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) at the varsity’s seminar complex on February 26 and 27.

M.K. Jayaraj, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calicut, will inaugurate the programme. It is being held as part of the STARS (Strengthening Teaching-Learning and Results for States) initiative supported by the World Bank aimed at enhancing Kerala’s general education through the STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Ecosystem project implemented by the Department of General Education to foster interest in science, technology, and research among school students, according to a release.

Twenty-five projects selected from six districts will be presented on the occasion. The presentations are designed to promote scientific thinking, creativity, and practical knowledge. Over a six-month period, students have conducted scientific studies on socially relevant issues with the mentorship of experts and researchers. Their findings will be presented in a simple and accessible manner to the public. Each presentation will be followed by an interactive session, allowing experts and audience members to raise questions and offer suggestions, the release said.
