Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has signed contracts with Denmark-based Svitzer for constructing four fully electric 70-tonne bollard pull ‘TRAnsverse’ tugs to join its global fleet.

“The next-generation tugs will be capable of operating in complex configurations, with all ship types and sizes in challenging weather and tidal conditions. The vessels will be deployed for port and terminal operations in Europe, the US, and Australia,” CSL said in a statement.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Harikrishnan S., director (operations), on behalf of CSL, and Kasper Nilaus, CEO, and Knud Winkler, CFO, for Svitzer.
