In an attempt to educate the masses about the importance of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), the Chirayu Hospital observed the CPR awareness week in educational institutions and public places in Kalaburagi city from October 13 to October 17.
Manjunath Doshetty, medical director of Chirayu Hospital, and cardiologist Irranna Hirapur, addressing a press conference in Kalaburagi city on Friday, said that CPR is an important technique that can help to save lives in emergencies like cardiac arrests.
Dr. Hirapur expressed concern over increasing cases of sudden cardiac arrest and attributed the poor survival rates associated with cardiac arrests to the delays in performing CPR. Explaining the procedure, the cardiologist said that the CPR technique aids in keeping the blood flow active until the trained medical personnel of a doctor attend the patient.
