The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] has accused the local police in Beypore in Kozhikode district of removing flex boards highlighting the alleged theft at the Ayodhya Ram temple.
T. Radha Gopi, CPI(M) Feroke area committee secretary, said in a release on Saturday (August 8, 2026) that the boards with a headline ‘Those who came into power in the name of Lord Ram are stealing from the Ram temple’ were put up at a private place by Samskrithi Temple Coordination Committee aligned with the party in Beypore. By removing them, the police under the United Democratic Front government had shown its subservience to the Sangh Parivar, she alleged.
Ms. Gopi claimed that the boards were meant to highlight the alleged financial irregularities related to the temple. She alleged that the news media in the country had been publishing reports about the alleged theft “supervised by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.” She claimed that the findings of the Central investigative agencies in the case related to it should be brought before the people. The police should clarify if its action was based on the directions from the higher authorities, Ms. Gopi added.
The police officers of the Beypore station were not available for comments.
