CPI State secretary M. Veerapandian, on Tuesday (May 5, 2026), said his party would take a decision if Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader C. Joseph Vijay sought its support to form the government. The TVK is short of 10 legislators to cross the halfway mark in the 234-member Assembly in Tamil Nadu.

“We have not received any request so far. If he approaches us, we will consider it, as in a democracy we must respect every political party. However, any decision on supporting his government will be taken collectively by the party and not by individuals,” he said.
