Taking exception to the CPI (Maoist) central committee member Sonu’s recent statement about ‘temporary suspension of armed struggle’, the banned outfit’s Telangana State committee official spokesperson Jagan, in a purported statement on Friday (September 19, 2025), termed it as the personal opinion of Sonu and not the decision of the party.

In the purported statement dated September 19, 2025, Jagan faulted Sonu’s statement saying “it came at a time when the Centre unleashed deadline-driven military offensive Operation Kagar to eliminate Maoist party with brutal repression, heedless of the intellectuals and mass organisations call to immediately stop Operation Kagar.”

In his two-page statement released on social media platforms, Jagan said 28 comrades including the party general secretary attained martyrdom on May 21 this year.

He said, “Implementation of the circular issued by the CPI (Maoist) Polit Bureau in 2024 is the immediate task and let us step up fight against the fascist BJP’s anti-people policies.”

Meanwhile, Police sources said the authenticity of the statement issued in the name of Maoist leader Jagan is being verified.
