A couple living together were found dead at their rented accomodation in Jigani near Anekal on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Seema Nayak, 25, and Rakesh Nayak, 23, natives of Odisha. Rakesh was working in a security service firm, while Seema was working in a supermarket.

According to the police, the duo is suspected to have ended their lives two days ago, which came to light on Monday as neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from the house and no movement from inside as the house remained locked for a few days. The neighbors grew suspicious and broke open a window to find the couple dead inside. Reportedly, the couple were staying with a friend, who left the house on Friday after the couple started fighting.

A prima facie investigation suggested that Seema was allegedly upset over Rakesh’s alcohol addiction, and the couple fought over the same. The police suspect that Rakesh might have killed himself following the fight. Following this, Seema too might have ended her life.
