A young couple was found dead at their residence in Janwada village under the Mokila police station limits on Sunday (June 28, 2026).

The deceased were identified as Bala Sai, 32, and his wife Padma, 25. The couple had a love marriage about 18 months ago after convincing their families and were parents to a five-month-old boy.

According to the police, family members discovered the couple hanging inside their residence on Sunday and immediately alerted the authorities. Mokila police reached the spot, conducted a preliminary investigation and shifted the bodies for postmortem examination.

Police said the exact reason behind the deaths is yet to be established. However, preliminary inquiries suggest that the couple had been facing financial difficulties and were allegedly distressed over them, leading them to take the drastic step.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to their deaths.
