Counting begins for Umreth Assembly bypoll in Gujarat

Counting of votes for the byelection to the Umreth assembly seat in Gujarat was underway on Monday (May 4, 2026) amid tight security.

The bypoll, held on April 23, was necessitated following the death of the then-sitting BJP MLA Govind Parmar.
