The Andhra Pradesh Contract Lecturers Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Sunday thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his favourable response to their plea in resolving the longstanding issues of regularisation of services and pending salaries of contract lecturers working in government junior, degree and polytechnic colleges.

In a statement, JAC chairman K. Suresh and co-chairman K. Srinivas said the Chief Minister had assured them that he would review the issues and ensure justice to them.

The JAC representatives brought to Mr. Naidu’s attention that although the Act No. 30/2023 for regularisation of contract employees was enacted and G.O. No. 114 was subsequently issued, the process was stalled due to enforcement of the election code. They requested the Chief Minister to resume the regularisation process and make the contract lecturers working in government junior, degree and polytechnic colleges permanent.

The JAC has been advocating for the regularisation of their services and payment of pending honorariums. The leaders have been in discussions with the government, which had made some progress, but the regularisation process for many lecturers remains incomplete.
