Ramesh Babu Lakshmanan, Consul General of India in Atlanta, the U.S., called on the founder and chancellor of VIT G. Viswanathan in the campus in Vellore on Wednesday. During their meeting, Mr. Lakshmanan and the VIT Chancellor discussed strengthening ties between VIT and educational institutions in the U.S., student exchange programmes, and collaborative research in technology and innovative fields. The vice-president of VIT, Sekar Viswanathan, and R. Seenivasan, Director, International Relations, VIT, were present on the occasion, the release said.

Mr. Viswanathan also paid floral tributes to the statue of former Chief Minister and AIADMK founder M.G. Ramachandran on his Memorial Day at VIT campus in Vellore on Wednesday.
