The Karnataka Congress on Friday suspended Rajeev Gowda after the party’s disciplinary committee examined allegations against him.
An FIR has been registered against Mr. Gowda for allegedly issuing death threats to Shidlaghatta City Municipal Commissioner Amrutha Gowda.
The High Court of Karnataka had on Thursday asked the police why they did not invoke the more serious offence of “insulting modesty of a woman by word, gesture or act” against Mr. Gowda for using abusive language and threatening the CMC Commissioner.
