KHAMMAM

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has alleged that the Congress government’s ‘misrule’ crippled welfare and brought development to a standstill in the State.

Addressing BRS functionaries in Palair constituency of Khammam district on Wednesday, he alleged that all sections of the society, particularly farmers, were hit hard by its ‘misgovernance’.

“Widespread resentment is prevailing among people over the failure of the government to deliver on its electoral promises, rampant corruption and dictatorial tendencies, among people at the helm,” he charged.

He further alleged that the Congress dispensation earned notoriety for demolition of houses of the poor on one pretext or the other.

“Hundreds of poor people were rendered homeless in a massive demolition drive at Vinoba Navodaya Colony near Velugumatla in Khammam earlier this year,” he alleged, adding, “The houses of the poor were razed at the behest of some influential persons to benefit their henchmen.”

Mr. Rao said that the people of Telangana are vexed with the Congress party’s misrule and keen to bring BRS back to power.
