The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) burnt an effigy of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Tata Madhu at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Monday (September 7, 2026), demanding his immediate dismissal from the Legislative Council for allegedly making highly objectionable and derogatory remarks against Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.

Led by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Media Communications chairman and Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Congress party leaders Chanagani Dayakar, Koturi Manavata Roy, Mettu Sai Kumar and others raised slogans against the BRS and the MLC during the protest.

Mr. Reddy alleged that the remarks against the Dalit leader holding the constitutional office of Speaker were indicative of the “arrogance” of BRS leaders. He said making abusive remarks against a Dalit Speaker while holding the responsible position of an MLC was “unforgivable”.
