Continuing his tirade against the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao accused it of betraying public trust and failing to deliver on its electoral promises including six guarantees. He reiterated that the Jubilee Hills bypoll is a contest between the ‘car’ and the ‘bulldozer’, stating that the government was targeting the poor through the HYDRAA drive, which would raze houses in Borabanda as well if the ruling party secures the seat.

Addressing a roadshow in Borabanda in support of the party’s candidate Maganti Sunitha Gopinath on Monday, Mr. Rao said, “Two years have passed since the Congress made its promises, but not a single one has been implemented. Scooters did not arrive for girl students, Indiramma houses were not taken up and the ₹4,000 pension was not implemented. Congress government spared no one in its cheating.”

The former minister also hit out at the government over the HYDRAA demolition drive in Sunnam Cherurvu and other areas, saying thousands of poor families had been rendered homeless under the guise of removing encroachments from the waterbodies. “Seeing the plight of the HYDRAA victims brings tears to the eyes. If you want this monster to disappear, vote for the car symbol,” he said, appealing to voters to support the BRS.

He alleged that the Congress government is forcing auto drivers and farmers to end their lives with its flawed policies.

He described the ongoing political battle as one “between the car and the bulldozer”, asserting that the Congress government must be warned for its “anti-poor actions”.

The roadshow, held along Borabanda Road, drew thousands of people from Vinayakanagar, S.R.T. Nagar and adjoining areas.
