NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha verifying the LPG gas filling and stock position in Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) plant at Kondapalli, near Vijayawada on Friday.

NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha on Friday visited the Indian Oil Corporation Limited gas filling plant at Kondapalli and enquired with officials about the LPG stock position.

The Collector reviewed the availability of LPG and supply of gas cylinders at the bottling units and agencies along with Revenue Divisional Officers and Civil Supplies Department officials during his inspection of the IOCL gas filling unit.

Mr. Lakshmisha said the daily demand for LPG cylinders in Vijayawada was about 16,000, while Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited together had the capacity to supply more than 25,000 cylinders a day.

“We have gas filling units of three companies and there is no scarcity of LPG cylinders. The public need not panic,” the Collector said.

He warned that stern action would be taken against those creating panic or selling LPG cylinders in the black-market. He also appealed to consumers to alert the Control Room on Ph. No. 9154970454 if they faced any problem in getting LPG cylinders or noticed black- marketing.

“According to the officers of the gas filling and supply companies, there is no shortage of cooking gas. The public should not believe rumours about LPG supply,” the Collector said.

He directed the officials concerned to closely monitor LPG supply from the bottling plants and the stock position at gas agencies.

Vijayawada RDO T. V. Satish, District Fire Officer A. V. Shankar Rao and others were present during the inspection.
