CM Stalin unveils Winners Trophy for Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday from the Secretariat unveiled the Winners Trophy for Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025, hosted by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu and Hockey India.

The World Cup matches will be held in Chennai and Madurai from November 28 to December 10, according to an official release.

At the Secretariat, Mr. Stalin also presented enhanced incentives to students from 18 training institutions under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. Full time trainees receive ₹10,000 and part time trainees will receive ₹5,000, said a release.

He also inaugurated the upgraded Government Hospital Tiruchengode through video conferencing. The hospital has been enhanced with 225 beds and a newly constructed ground plus four floor building under the Department of Health and Family Welfare at the cost of ₹23 crore.

Through video conferencing, Mr. Stalin also inaugurated a mini-Tidel Park at Vellore constructed at the cost of ₹32 crore with a potential to generate job opportunities for 600 people. He also laid the foundation stone for ₹37 crore Mini Tidel Park in Rasipuram.

The Chief Minister also chaired a review meeting on the activities of the Public and Rehabilitation Department and the Environment, Climate Change, and Forest Department, as well as the current status of the announcements issued.

Mr. Stalin also released the English version of V.M.S. Subagunarajan’s book titled ‘Caste and the Crisis of Dignity: Periyar EVR Ramasamy Speaks at Caste Association Meetings and Caste Abolition Conferences’ translated by journalist R. Vijaya Sankar and V.M.S. Subagunarajan’s book .”Caste and Crisis of Dignity: Periyar Speaks” was released by Mr. Stalin. This is the English version of Subagunarajan’’s “ஜாதி மாநாடுகளில் பெரியார்”. The first copy was received by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.
