Hyderabad

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to keep the land, earlier allotted to Sharada Peetham at Kokapet, with the Peetham and cancel its subsequent allocation to the Water Board.

The decision was taken after representatives of the Peetham brought to the Chief Minister’s notice the ongoing construction activities on the land and concerns over its reallocation to the Board. Following this, the CM held a review meeting with senior officials at the Secretariat on Saturday evening.

During the meeting, Mr Revanth Reddy sought detailed information on the current status of various constructions being undertaken by the Peetham on the Kokapet land. He expressed serious displeasure over officials not informing him about the status of the ongoing constructions at the time of reallocating the land to the Water Board.

Terming the lapse as unacceptable, he ordered that the allotment made to the Water Board be cancelled immediately and the land be continued in favour of Sharada Peetham.

He also advised the Peetham representatives to meet Minister Sridhar Babu and brief him comprehensively about the works and other related aspects to ensure smooth resolution of the issue.
