Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday (January 7, 2026) directed State government officials to meet people at their respective offices and addresses their concerns for two working days in a week (Mondays and Fridays). The fresh isntructions, effective from January 19, are aimed at tackling public grievances that persist due to the absence of government officials in the offices.

“It has often been observed that when common people go to government offices with their problems, the officials are not present, which causes them inconvenience. Keeping this in mind, to ensure that the common people of the state do not face any kind of difficulty in matters related to government offices, the government has taken a few steps,” Mr. Kumar said in a post on X.

Mr. Kumar said that on these two working days — Monday and Friday — the “common people will meet the concerned officials at their designated workplaces/office rooms in all government offices at the Gram Panchayat, police station, block, subdivision, district, division, and State levels for the execution of their complaints.”

“On both the designated days, all concerned officials will be present in their respective offices, meet the people respectfully, listen to their complaints with sensitivity, and resolve them promptly,” he added.

The arrangements in all government offices will be made, including seating for visitors, as well as providing them with necessary facilities such as drinking water, toilets, etc.

Mr. Kumar asserted that a register of complaints received from visitors will be maintained, and arrangements for continuous monitoring of the complaints will also be ensured.

Mr. Kumar explained that after the formation of the new government in the State on November 20 last year, the government implemented ‘Saat Nischay-3’ to include the State in the category of the most developed States in the country.

He stated that the main objective of the seventh resolves is ‘Sabka Samman-Jeevan Aasaan’ (Ease of Living), is to reduce the difficulties faced by all citizens of the state in their daily lives and make their lives even easier.

“With its implementation, common people will get a lot of convenience, and their problems can be resolved quickly. I am fully confident that this initiative will prove to be very useful for the common citizens of the State, and their daily lives will become easier. If you wish to give any other specific suggestions regarding this arrangement, you can submit your valuable suggestions by January 10, 2026 through post, email and QR code,” Mr. Kumar said.

On December 16, the Bihar government cleared ‘Saat Nischay-3’ with an aim to push Bihar among the most developed States over the next five years.
