CM Bhupendra Patel visits rain-affected Gujarat villages, reviews crop damage

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday (November 3, 2025) visited Kadvasan village in Gir-Somnath district and Panidhra village in Junagadh district to review crop damage from the recent unseasonal rains and hear directly from farmers. He was joined by Ministers Arjun Modhwadia, Dr Pradyuman Vaja, and Minister of State Shri Kaushik Vekariya.  

The Chief Minister said that the state government stands with the farmers and will support them through this period. He announced that a relief package will be declared soon after the completion of survey work to help affected farmers recover from their losses.  

Unseasonal rains that began in the last week of October damaged crops in several districts. Survey operations were launched to assess the extent of damage. About 70% of the affected areas across the State have been covered so far, with over 4,800 survey teams engaged in the task. The remaining areas are being covered by the administration on a continuous basis.  

The agriculture and related departments have been working under the Chief Minister’s directions to complete the survey process at the earliest. Officials have been instructed to prepare detailed reports based on field assessments so that the relief package can be implemented without delay.  

According to early estimates, unseasonal rains have affected crops in more than 16,000 villages across 249 talukas. The Chief Minister said that the government remains committed to the welfare of the farming community and will take all necessary steps to provide support.  

State ministers have also visited various rain-affected areas to review the situation. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi visited Surat district, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani covered Bhavnagar, Tribal Development Minister Naresh Patel visited Tapi, and State Minister Kaushikbhai Vekariya reviewed the situation in Amreli district.  

Ministers observed the extent of crop loss and interacted with farmers to understand their difficulties. The Chief Minister said the government will ensure that every affected farmer receives timely assistance once the survey reports are completed.
