K.K. Rema, United Democratic Front-backed Revolutionary Marxist Party of India candidate in the Vadakara Assembly constituency, has submitted a petition to the District Police Chief (Kozhikode Rural), alleging attempts by her political rivals to circulate obscene posters and videos created with the support of artificial intelligence tools on social media.
In her petition, she claimed that there were “purposeful efforts” to defame her political and personal image using morphed photographs and posters in the wake of the elections.
She also said that even fake social media profiles were used for defamatory and insulting campaigns.
