CI under VR booked for alleged rape in Palnadu district

A Circle Inspector currently under VR in the Guntur Range has been booked on charges of rape following a complaint lodged by a 40-year-old woman in Vinukonda town, police said on Wednesday.

According to the police, the complainant, a native of Markapuram district and presently residing in Vinukonda in Palnadu district, approached the Vinukonda Town Police Station alleging sexual assault by B. China Mallaiah, a Circle Inspector.
