Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on Saturday directed officials to prepare comprehensive action plans for the development of pushkar ghats, road expansion and allied infrastructure in view of the upcoming Godavari Pushkaralu. He emphasised the need for detailed proposals to ensure timely execution of works.
Mr. Ramakrishna Rao reviewed preparations at a meeting with senior officials at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat, covering the Revenue, Endowments, Tourism, Culture, Youth Services, Transport, Roads and Buildings, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments. Officials informed him that 74 ghats at 69 locations along Godavari river have been identified for Pushkaralu-related works. He also issued instructions on the effective implementation of development and welfare schemes undertaken by the government.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of development works at Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple (Yadagirigutta), Vemulawada Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy Temple and Dharmapuri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple. He stressed the need to improve queue management and basic amenities, particularly at Yadagirigutta and Vemulawada.
The meeting also focused on the maintenance of Bhu Bharati land records, delivery of services to farmers, land surveys, construction of sub-registrar office buildings, e-filing systems, the role of licenced surveyors and achievement of targets outlined in the Vision 2047 document.
2036 Olympics
Directing the Tourism, Culture and Youth Services departments, Mr. Ramakrishna Rao called for training programmes aimed at producing international-level athletes ahead of the 2036 Olympics. He said special emphasis should be placed on identifying sporting talent among youth and supporting them at the State, national and international levels through improved training, coaching facilities, incentives, awards and financial assistance. He also asked officials to develop Telangana’s historic sites to attract more visitors.
Reviewing the Transport department affairs, the Chief Secretary said road development is critical for economic growth, and instructed officials to expedite works connecting rural and urban areas.
He also directed that the construction of government hospitals at Warangal, LB Nagar, Alwal, Sanathnagar, New Osmania, along with the new High Court building, be completed within stipulated timelines.
He further instructed Mission Bhagiratha officials to take measures to prevent drinking water shortages during the upcoming summer.
