Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of being “selective and complicit” in its approach while taking exception to it writing to the State government seeking details on the release of funds under the State’s guarantee schemes in Davangere and Bagalkot districts, where byelections are scheduled.

Taking to social media, Mr. Siddaramaiah said, “This is not neutrality – this is complicity. When BJP or NDA governments act, the ECI looks the other way. But when Karnataka fulfils its promises, the same ECI becomes hyperactive. This double standard exposes a clear bias.”
