Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday held a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat on law and order, taking a serious note of the gruesome murder of T. Lakshmi Naidu, a resident of Kandukur.

Home Minister V. Anitha, MA&UD Minister P. Narayana, Director-General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta, and Kandukur MLA I. Nageswara Rao were present.

Mr. Naidu described the murder as inhuman and barbaric, and vowed that the culprits would face the harshest possible punishment.

Calling for swift action, he directed the officials to set up a special tribunal to expedite the investigation and ensure speedy trial. He ordered that the case be handed over to a fast-track court, and instructed the appointment of a special public prosecutor to monitor the proceedings effectively.

Extending support to the bereaved family, Mr. Naidu announced a comprehensive compensation package.

The government would provide two acres of land and ₹5 lakh in cash to the wife of the deceased. Each of his two children would receive two acres of land and ₹5 lakh as fixed deposits, with the government taking full responsibility for their education.

The Chief Minister also directed the officials to compensate those injured in the attack on a car related to the murder.

Pawan will receive four acres of land, ₹5 lakh cash, and the state government would bear all medical expenses. Bhargav would be given ₹3 lakh in cash, along with full reimbursement of hospital expenses.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to uphold law and order, the Chief Minister said such heinous acts would not be tolerated under any circumstances. “Justice must be visible and swift so that no one dares to take law into their hands again,” he said.

Mr. Naidu underlined the need for coordinated efforts between the police and administration to maintain peace and ensure safety to every citizen in the State.
