After being sworn in the 14th Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday, C Joseph Vijay arrived in the Secretariat and went to his office and signed a few files. A photograph released by the DIPR showed a photograph of former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai hanging in the background. New Ministers and senior IAS officials called on him and presented flowers.
The Chief Minister chaired a meeting with senior officials to review the law and order situation in the State. Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar, Director-General of Police Sandeep Rai Rathore and senior officials took part in the meeting. During the meeting, Mr. Vijay reviewed the steps being undertaken towards the safety of women and against offences relating to illegal drugs and psychotropic substances. Mr. Vijay later visited Periyar Thidal and paid tributes to late social reformer ‘Periyar’ E.V. Ramasamy. He also met Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani and presented flowers and a shawl.
