Four members of the Chhattisgarh Police’s District Reserve Guards (DRG) were killed in an explosion while trying to dispose of a gunpowder dump during a search operation in the State’s Kanker district on Saturday (May 2, 2026), a senior police officer said.
The victims were in a forested area under the Chhotebethiya police station when sacks of gunpowder, found in an abandoned Maoist hideout, exploded.
